TWJN 121 | Back-to-back weeks with 50 writing opps.. aren't you lucky 😯
28 paid calls to pitch. 21 writing jobs. Early access for TWJN Supporters!
Happy Sunday to 4,745 motivated writers 👋🏼
How’s everyone doing? It’s really started to cool off in Austin now, which is really lovely.
Plus, this is another big week of writing opps. Lots and lots of jobs out there, especially as publications are gearing up for their holiday pieces.
This is all great, but it’s bittersweet.
Loads of writers, especially in tech, have been laid off.. over 118,000 layoffs so far apparently
But we’ve also got an awesome community of writers sharing more opps to help.
If you are a publisher and want to feature a job or opportunity, reach out!
Also - I had no idea Americans love Autumn so much! Back in the UK it’s quite rainy and miserable but here it’s just perfect 😊
Let’s get to it! ⬇️ ⬇️

Subscriber recommendation: The Science of Storytelling
A quick shout out to Francesca on Twitter to reached out and shared this great book recommendation on the psychology behind stories. It’s the Science of Storytelling by Will Storr.
It’s all about WHY we humans are drawn to stories. We all know the HOW (with story arcs, characters etc.) but this gets to the theories behind it all.
Fascinating stuff.
Check it out here
PS - Do you have a book recommendation to share? Hit reply or ping me on Twitter. Would love to hear it!
