TWJN 121 | Back-to-back weeks with 50 writing opps.. aren't you lucky 😯
28 paid calls to pitch. 21 writing jobs. Early access for TWJN Supporters!
Happy Sunday to 6,2030 motivated writers 👋🏼
How’s everyone doing? It’s another great week - nearly 50 opps!
It definitely feels like publications have their budgets wide open. Now’s the time to take advantage!
It might also be a good time to get back in touch with places you’ve published before. I’ve found it’s always easier to get back into a publication where you’ve already done great work.
Speaking of work… I’m off to one of the more unusual things I’ve done recenrtly this evening.. A breath work class 🤔
I’d love to hear if you’ve done something like this! I am big on meditation 😊
Anyway, let’s get to it! ⬇️⬇️

Pew Research on the state of journalism in the US
I came across this super interesting research from Pew that looks at the state of journalism in the US.
They broke down different beats and their makeup, from gender to ethnicity to freelance. And I think there’s a few ways to look at this.
If you’re a freelancer, pitching Entertainment & Science seems to be the way to go. Those publications are much more likely to accept freelancers.
… Or pitching for Crime & Politics might be where there’s less competition.
How do you read this analysis? Let me know!
